About

Please check out our contact page for maps and session times if you would like to visit us.
Our current mat fees are (payable at the session): £6 for over 18's, £5 for under 18's and students.
Our embroidered club badges (as shown in our ‘Gallery’) are also available for £4.

The club is currently run by Sensei Derek Piears and his wife Sensei Petra Piears, and we also have other members of the club who are qualified to coach/instruct, giving us a broad range of experience across the team. We are insured by the British Judo Association. For new members wishing to obtain their judo licence from the BJA, our club number is 68.

Our Dojo is situated on the top floor of Alton Sports Centre. We have a permanent matted area in the air conditioned Chawton Suite. The Sports Centre has: a large car park (free) with provision for disabled parking, a lift to all floors, toilets including disabled facilities on all floors, changing facilities with showers, a cafe and vending machines.

Alton Judo Club tries hard to make sure its members get more than just quality judo coaching from the club. We know affording sport is important too – that’s why we’ve introduced the AJC Loyalty Card (download yours here or get one at the club) so you can get a few free sessions each year.

Also look out for this logo on our website links page for more benefits you can get by being an AJC member.
